The Master Gardener's Newsletter

Our Mission:

The purpose of the Newsletter is to gather and convey information useful to the members of the Master Gardeners of Essex County, to keep them apprised of up-coming events, research, and scientific advancements.

Description:

The Newsletter is the monthly publication of the Master Gardeners of Essex County. It is published eleven times a year to coincide with the monthly meetings. There is no meeting in August. The Newsletter:

• has a monthly update article from the President
• covers what the various committees are doing in the community
• reminds the membership of the monthly meeting and program topic
• gives information on recent articles from Rutgers University and other instutions, newspaper, and informative gardening outlets.
• notes a calendar of events such as flower shows, trips, classes, and workshops as well as the annual plant sale

The Newsletter is distributed electronically by e-mail as well as by regular mail for those members who do not have access to e-mail.

Our Goal:

Our goals are tri-fold.

1. It is to keep people informed and active with the organization.
2. It is committed to inform all the Master Gardeners about the variety of volunteer opportunities the organization offers.
3. It is committed to make the Master Gardeners aware of current gardening practices and outlets for their interests.

All Master Gardeners are welcome to submit articles they write or find in other publications (giving credit to the publication), for publishing in the Newsletter. Articles need to be submitted by the date given on the lst page of the Newsletter to be printed the following month.
